About Us
IWS Generator Hire is a division of Independent Welding Services Ltd which was established over 30 years ago. Over time we realised our customers within the welding and engineering sector, required temporary power solutions. With our years of knowledge within the welding industry, it was an easy and exciting expansion of our business. We started off with just a couple of Generators and were overwhelmed with the requirement for them, over time we built our hire fleet to what it is today. IWS have a large range of Generators from 6 KVA up to 135 KVA. Our Generators are top quality, super silent, fuel efficient and top spec.
Over the years we have expanded our portfolio from what was originally just site work with customers in our welding and engineering division, to providing Generators for Weddings, Festivals, Markets, Film productions and much more.
Not only do we supply Generators for hire but also Fuel storage solutions, Distribution Equipment, Cabling, Heating, Lighting, Cable Ramp, Fencing and much more. We offer a 24 hour 365 day facility to cover all breakdowns and emergency requirements where our service team are available to deal with all eventualities and unforeseen needs.
We are proud to say that we have an ISO 9000 qualification and also a HAE Safe Hire Certification. We strive on being the best of the best and these certifications prove this.

IWS Generator Hire (T/A Independent Welding Services) are a member of the Hire Association Europe (HAE) and also a Safe Hire Certified Company. Back in January we had our annual audit and we are pleased to say that we passed and have been awarded the certification again. This gives customers confidence that IWS comply with a high level of Health & Safety and effective organisational management standards and processes. We also ensure a high level of customer service and safe provision. Our credibility for this Certification can be verified by the Safe Hire Website but we also proudly display our Certificate in our Trade Counter and also online for all to see.
This is one of our mobile workshop containers being loaded for delivery to site. Inside is a 40 kva Generator and 2 water cooled 400 Amp Pulsed MIG's along with a work bench, an air compressor and a Hypertherm Powermax 45 Plasma. This is a complete workshop solution for our customer enabling them to securely store and use all of the Equipment on site.
